Because I was not!
It does no good for me to plan, because things always change. Sometimes I hate telling people what is going on with our house, house plans, etc because I can't even begin to tell you how many times all that has changed! Our loan has finally closed & we can start building but things are still changing.
Our original plan was to move our trailer to one side of our land & live in the trailer while the house was being built. Well, I could always tell the Patrick wasn't too keen on that idea because of all the water lines, septic tank & other issues that would come up with moving the trailer. It just so happens that our one & only neighbor passed away a few months ago. You can see his house from our house & his land is right next to ours. So obviously when the land came up for sale we wanted to buy it. The land came up for sale right about the time we started our loan process with the bank. I put slammed my foot down & told Patrick there was no way in the world we could possibly buy that land & get a construction loan at the same time. & our house was coming first!!
Long story short, Patrick's parents ended up buying the farm (the house that the man lived in was included). So now they all have the idea that we can just live in that house while our house is being built. Yayyyy....right?! Not to mention, our trailer is SOLD! Evidently, it is a hot commodity & I never knew it, ha!
It all sounds so lovely & easy until Wednesday when we actually go inside the house for the first time ever & see this:
OH EM GEE (& I don't mean that in a good way!)
Please notice the white spots where the deer heads hung on the walls. That is what years & years of smoking inside does for your house my dear friends!
The bathroom. Ewww is all I can say...
Bedroom #1 (obviously they weren't big on cleaning the floors)
Bedroom #2
Bedroom #3
The sweet kitchen (that was sarcasm)
Dining room/Eating area
Here is the outside of the house:
Laundry room (which is outside!)
My inlaws are doing a major re-do of the house & they have three weeks to do it. So basically this is just another bump in the road for us to get started building, but we have to be out of our trailer & started on the house by April 1 according to the bank who did our loan. My mother-in-law has everything planned out that is going to be done to the house & even in all of its terribleness right now, I actually think it will be okay once all the work is done. We will only be living in it for a few short months, so we will be able to manage. Patrick keeps telling me to look at the big picture, haha! The inlaws will use it as a rental house once we move out. I will definitely post pics once the work has been completed!
okay, so it could be alot worse...really! I think the worst partwill be the s
ReplyDeletestale smoke smell you will have to deal with. But its really not that bad(I've lived in worse...no joke)The outside laundry is not that bad in the spring & summer months(just amke sure you take a key with you(Kyle would always lockme out of the house when I would go out to change the laundry) It became his favorite game to play.
I know it seems horrible to you now, but just make the best of it and look forward to were it is leading you. You know I am h
always here if you need me....don't forget I will paint and clean anything that will stand still long enough :O)
I'll take this house over the lodge any day! Joseph is embarrased for me to write that but its true.haha. With all those renovations coming you might not want to move out boo!! Just remember this is temporary & 20 years from now it will be a blur. I think its cool that you will be able to watch all of the building in progress on a daily basis!!
