Ahh-mazing.

A week ago today, I had the pleasure of going on a trip with our builder {Jamie} to tour a few homes he is just finishing up.  Jamie thought it would give us some good ideas on colors, cabinets, countertops, etc & we could see some of his work.  Little did he know, this trip for me was like telling a kid they were going to Disney.  There are few things that I love more right now than exploring new houses.  I think I'm going to be really sad when this building experience is over for me.

The first house we looked at is similar to how ours is going to be.  It's a country style with vinyl siding & around the same square footage.

Pretty kitchen.  I think we are going with this same color for cabinets, but different countertops & different backsplash.

Our hardwood will be darker but we will have the same molding & arches as shown here.

The exterior.  We will have a similar color vinyl with black shutters.

& now for the next house.  This is where the ahh-mazing part comes in.  This house was very different {which is what the owner was going for} & HUGE.  Like 7000 square feet huge.  I don't think they have a budget.

Here is the dining room.  It's pretty, but not really my style.

I really like these countertops & backsplash!

This is what's called an E-Z Breeze porch.  Our house will have this too.

Built-ins & stone fireplace which we will also have.

That is pretty much where the similarities stop with our house, ha!
How pretty is her light fixture in her kitchen?!

GORGEOUS ceiling & window in living room.

Their master bathroom was insane.  Loved the stone tub.

Humongous shower with a ton of shower heads, stone flooring & granite seating imported from Italy.  Can you imagine??  I can't!

Ahhhh....a closet that I could only dream about!
Yes, that's an island in the middle.  You can't see the whole thing in this picture.

& finally the exterior, which looks way smaller than what it actually is.

All in all, we got some really good ideas & it was a lot of fun to see other people's choices.  I can't wait until we get to make some fun decisions!

PS - this is my 100th post!!  Finally!  It only took me two years and two months to get to 100 ;-)

  1. I am loving all these updates and house ideas! Keep them coming. It is so exciting when people are building a new house. I know its overwhelming, but just don't get to many ideas you get overwhelmed! I know it's going to be beautiful, you have great taste!
