Over the weekend, Mallory spent right much time with my parents & grandparents. All of them kept telling her (& me too) that she was "so grown". Not only is she eating completely by herself now with a fork & spoon, she also has some very adult-like conversations with all of us.
Yesterday, Grandma Deborah was trying to get Mallory to eat a peach. She wasn't having it; held her hand up in the prissiest way & said, "I really don't like those."
Monday, I was changing her diaper. She looked at the lamp on her changing table which is painted & has a monogrammed shade with ribbon around it. She patted the lamp shade & said, "That's so cute."
Every morning this week, after getting dressed, Mallory walks around & says, "I'm a princess!" Please note, I have never called her a princess so I'm not sure where she picked that up at.
Monday night, I asked her was she ready to brush her teeth. She said, "ok!" (She never says yes. It is always 'ok' if she agrees) I usually just sit her on the counter, but she said, "I get stool Mama." She goes in my bedroom & gets a little stool out, carries it in the bathroom & proceeds to stand on it & brush her teeth. Patrick & I just looked at each other.
Ever since she has put the stool in front of the bathroom sink, she wants to "wash hands" constantly. We spent a lot of time last night & this morning washing hands. Patrick said, "I sure hope she's not a cleanaphobic." Is that a word? I don't think so.
One day when I went to pick her up from Granny's house, she looked at me & said, "How was your day?" I replied, "It was fine, how about yours?"
It is truly amazing how much a toddlers vocabulary grows & changes daily. In the meantime, we are getting some good laughs :)
