Amazingly, I got an award from my sweet friend Natalie. I don't do anything to promote my blog or try to gain readers, so maybe this is a start :) Anyway, Natalie posted on my Facebook wall, "Giving you a Stylish Award" so I followed the link & sure enough, my little blog was listed! It made my day & there was no doubt that I wanted to join in.
The rules to play are as follows:
1.) I have to thank and link back to the blogger who gave me the award. Natalie has an awesome blog, Our Little Things. She is also an amazing mom & photographer who has given me great parenting advice on numerous occasions. We have known each other many, many years & I am honored to call her a friend. Thanks for tagging me Natalie!
2.) The next thing I have to do is share 7 things about myself. This has taken me about four days - to come up with 7 things, that most people may not know about me but here goes.
1. Earlier this week I was reading over some old posts I had done & came across my New Year's Resolutions post. For the first time ever, I have really stuck to each one of them. I'm not quite to the 10 pounds that I wanted to lose, but I have lost 8. I'm really really proud of myself for making those resolutions & sticking to them (for at least 4 months).
2. I am probably the least athletic person on the planet. I wish that wasn't the case, because I wanted to play sports & be good at it when I was in school but it just wasn't that way. Growing up with two brothers, our house seemed to be the one where all the kids gathered & there was always a baseball game, basketball game or football game going on in our yard. I always participated but the term 'throw like a girl' could have been invented when someone watched me try to hurl the ball. It's sad.
3. I can't go under water without holding my nose. I was the kid at the pool wearing the nose clip. It's all because I can't stand the feel of getting water up my nose, so I've always just held it closed. I even learned to dive while holding it. & yes, even to this day my friends & husband joke me about it.
4. I grew up on a farm with animals and crops. I always had to work, by feeding cows & horses & I worked in tobacco for many, many years. I started out driving the tractor to pull the harvester when I was probably nine or ten years old. Fun way to spend my summers, huh? Looking back, I wouldn't have it any other way though. I learned so many valuable life lessons & the definition of what hard work is at an early age. I would have rather been outside doing work with my dad & brothers than helping my mom do housework inside. Maybe that's why I still hate cleaning to this day??
5. I have longed to own our home ever since we got married five years ago. That's the American dream right? Well my dream has come true & I couldn't be happier about it but at the same time it makes me sad that I don't have that to look forward to anymore. Yes, I know how crazy that sounds.
6. I really enjoy my job. I like my co-workers & I love making my own money but hello, I miss my little girl like CRAZY. If only I could work 20 hours a week, make the same pay & have benefits...that would be perfect.
7. I've never been able to tell my left from my right very well. I'm left handed & I always have to hold my left hand up when telling someone left or right. It's another thing that I get joked about so I like to just point & say 'go that way.'
3.) The final thing I had to do was tag 15 recently discovered bloggers to receive this Stylish Award. This is the hardest part for me because I don't have many readers! If I tagged you & you wish not to participate, no biggie. I was just trying to think of as many people as I could that I know how to contact who blog regularly & blogs that I enoy reading. That's a big 7 :)
1. Me & My Boyz
2. Pearson Pack
3. Happy Adams
4. The Deaver Family
5. Baby Claire's Blog
6. The life of a brown eyed girl
7. Be Serious
8.
9.
10.
11.
12.
13.
14.
15.
4.) The final step is to contact these people to let them know! I heart you all!
