A new experience

Sadly, our weekend hasn't been much better than my week was.

Mallory has acted  like she felt better.  We had a good morning at home yesterday {I love our Saturday mornings!}.  After lunch, we were heading to my parents house when all of a sudden she got into a coughing fit.

Here I am driving down the road & she's in the back in her carseat coughing like she is about to lose a lung.  Then in my rear view mirror, I see it coming - the throw up.

By this time I was slowing down to pull over anyway because of all the coughing, so I got out & got to her only to have nothing to use to clean her up with.  She ended up vomiting a few more times & I caught it with her pink fleece widgeon jacket :(  This is my first experience with throw up from my child {with the exception of some reflux she had as a newborn}.  We were just a few miles from my parent's house so I went on & we got her all cleaned up.

The plan was to drop Mallory off & go to a My Baby Vintage Party, but I was worried that she might get sick again & just wasn't sure what was going on, so I stayed with Mallory.  She gradually started acting okay & seemed to be fine until about an hour after she went to bed.  She coughed two or three times & all of a sudden threw up again.  I got her up & held her because she was crying, "Mommy, Mommy, Mommy" & then she threw up all over me.  Then I just held her in my lap & she threw up all over the floor. & this went on about three or four more times.  Patrick & I were freaking because she was pretty much coughing & throwing up nonstop.  He even called his stepmom & asked her to come over!  I guess he thought we needed an RN in the house, ha!  We finally got her settled back down & I have to say Patrick was a trooper & cleaned up all the vomit.

She slept peacefully the rest of the night & didn't wake up until 9:15 this morning!!  That is most definitely a record for Miss Mallory, because she is usually up & at 'em by 7:00 am at the latest.

Now I really believe that the throwing up is coming from all the congestion & drainage that she has had all week.  I know that I feel sick when I have a lot of that going on & she has no way of blowing her nose so it has basically ALL gone into her stomach.  Gross, I know.  Poor baby :(

On another good note,  the house that we are going to be living in while our house is being built became vacant this weekend.  Yay!!  Sooo, a few things have to be done in it & then we will be moving.  That's all the progress I have to report this week on the house construction, but at least there is progress!
