Pumpkin patch visits

Somehow my pictures are all out of order, but the last two weekends we have been to the pumpkin patch at Mike's Farm.  Mallory loves going, it is a short drive from our house & the weather has been beautiful so we've took advantage.  Last weekend it was Patrick, Mallory & myself and this weekend Mallory & I met Jessica & Tyler Kate there.

After some coaxing, Jess convinced Mallory to not be scared of the tractor & hop on with Tyler Kate.

Hunting to find the perfect pumpkin...

We ended up deciding it was best for the daddy's to be with us to buy pumpkins.  The mommy's had too much to carry to try to carry pumpkins too.

Mallory really seems to have a thing for hugging.  I can't tell you how many times she wanted to hug Tyler Kate.  We have a hugger, ha!

The girls did extremely well with the exception of this one meltdown held by my child because she wanted to see the animals again.

While Mallory was showing her Heath side, Tyler Kate was sitting pretty on a pumpkin.

When Mallory realized that Tyler Kate was getting all the attention by posing pretty, she straightened up quickly and decided to do the same.

Looking at her favorite animals there - the chickens.

These are from the prior weekend-

I found one mom!

It has been a beautiful fall season so far, I hope it continues a while longer before the cold weather hits!

Thursday already.

Where did this week go?!?  I can't believe tomorrow is Friday, time flies.
  • My mom has signed herself, Ashley M, and me up for a 5K this weekend.  Mom and I will be WALKING, while Ashley is going to run.  My goal is to not finish last.  Nikki is running in it also and she told me that they are letting anyone handicapped or in a wheelchair start 10 minutes early.  I think pregnant people should get to start early too.  Just saying.
  • The ONLY things left to do in the house are the backsplash, staining the hardwood floors, the garage door, pouring concrete parking pad and walkways and the landscaping.  It is so close, I can taste it and yet I am no where close to being prepared.  I've bought a set of lamps for the bedroom and two decorative stands to put on a bookshelf.  That's it.  I don't know what I'm waiting for, it's just that when I go and look I think I get overwhelmed not really knowing where to start.  Ugh.  We do have furniture though, although I have no idea whether it has come in or not (need to check on that).
  • Mallory seems to have turned a corner with potty training.  She's showing interest now!  She went three times at Mema's house yesterday and even did #2 at home last night.  We are so proud of her and this is just another reminder of how quick she is growing up.
  • Also speaking of Mallory, she has changed her name to Fern.  She tells everyone that she comes in contact with that her name is Fern and whenever we call her Mallory or Boo, she is quick to correct us and tell us that her name is Fern.  She even told me this morning, "you are Fern's mom."  Haha!  She watches Charlotte's Web at Granny's house and has really taken become obsessed with the little girl in the movie.  Oh well, guess it is better than acting like a puppy 24/7!

Too much excitement for one day.

For some reason, Mallory refuses to nap when she stays with Granny now.  The past four times she has been at Granny's house, she would not take a nap and then goes to sleep or cries nonstop from the minute I pick her up.  Today, she went to sleep before we got 1 mile down the road and has been asleep ever since.  That is not what I'm excited about, just thought it was worth mentioning.

While Mallory napped in the car, I went over to the new house as I do every day to see what had been done.  I think more was done today than ever in one day!  It is really coming together, so I took LOTS of pictures.

Carpet was put down today.  We only have carpet in the bonus room and bedrooms.  If it were up to me, I would have done NO carpet anywhere but Patrick really wanted carpet so we compromised on this.

The bonus room

This is a room off of the bonus room.  It could be a guest bedroom or office, not sure what we'll use it as (possibly both?).

& the little bathroom to go along with the upstairs bedroom/office.  It is small and very dark right now, so I've never taken a picture until today.  We also got toilets and countertops today, yay!!

Patrick's sink

& mine.  I'm so happy we have our own little spaces to get ready in the mornings.

One side of our closet.  The other side is mostly shelving.

One of my favorite parts of the house - the EZ Breeze porch.  I can see myself having many cups of coffee out here in the mornings.

Some of the appliances were put in today, including the cook top.  I hate to admit it, but I think I may have changed my mind on the backsplash.  I'm starting to side with Jamie and am leaning towards the tile on the left...in subway tile shape.  Thoughts & opinions on this are welcome :)

New fridge!!

Upclose of the granite in bathrooms

& after probably way too many pictures, an upclose of the kitchen granite.

I wish everyday was this productive in the house!

Movement: None yet, still too early.

Muddy Puddles

It seemed like it rained every day last week so we took advantage of Mallory's rain boots and she "jumped in the muddy puddles" as she calls it (she got that from Peppa Pig).

She LOVED it, and has wanted to do this everyday since.

I had to bribe her with a popsicle to get her to go back inside.  It has been really cold this weekend, & it seems so weird that I was sweating outside just a few days ago when we took these pictures.  I think it was Wednesday.

Now all the "muddy puddles" are dried up.

Cheesin'!

Our house is becoming a home.

Wow, it's October.  Which means that our move-in date is not far away at all!  Our builder says we will be in by November 1 :)
Light fixtures have made a huge difference it seems to me.  They weren't all up when I took these pictures but here are a few.  I think countertops are going in tomorrow and I cannot wait to get home to see them.

Here is a pic of our finished cabinets minus the hardware that goes on them.
Can you tell I'm having trouble deciding on a backsplash with the samples in the background?  I have my heart set on the shiny subway tile on the left, but the builder doesn't agree and is trying to persuade me with the tile on the right.

The master bedroom.  Patrick thought I was crazy for picking a fan with no light, but I hate bright overhead lighting and there is recessed lighting around the room so I felt like it wasn't needed.

& last but not least, my favorite light fixture in the dining room.
